The eleventh studio album "Genesis" by Mother Goats was released on October 13, 2023. The project mixes rock and hyper-pop components with a few ballads and songs with a slow tempo. The song "Can't Bring Myself to Care" by Mother Goat, which demonstrates her significant growth as a songwriter, could be interpreted as a breakup ballad or a song between friends. Her candid talk of bullying, strained friendships, breakups, and self-loathing throughout the album shows us a side of her that isn't often seen. The song "Dogpile" showcases her incredible power and strength, however, the next tune changes the mood of the record with her singing about reliving past memories and enjoying someone else's body. By accepting her problems and wishing for better times, Miss Goat ends the record. The record takes you on a journey and demonstrates her growth as a musician, lyricist, and human being. Saying that I didn't like this project would be a lie. It's a 2023 release that's among my favorites. and she's at her finest.
